Learn to Feel Rhythm, Not Just Count It

Join bassist and educator Ross Sandlin for an interactive Groove Workshop designed to help musicians develop stronger internal timing, rhythmic confidence, and musical feel. Using original drum grooves programmed in Ableton Live, participants will explore Solkattu (Konnakol) and Fruit Rhythm systems—powerful tools that simplify complex rhythms into easy-to-understand spoken patterns.

This hands-on session focuses on moving beyond mechanical counting and toward feeling rhythm naturally, helping players lock into grooves with greater consistency and musical flow. Attendees will actively participate in rhythm exercises, call-and-response demonstrations, and guided groove applications that can be used immediately in practice and performance.

In this workshop you will:

  • Learn the Fruit Rhythm method for internalizing subdivisions quickly

  • Improve groove consistency and timing accuracy

  • Develop stronger rhythmic awareness using spoken rhythm systems

  • Apply rhythmic concepts directly to real musical grooves

  • Ask questions and receive practical practice strategies

Perfect for bass players, guitarists, drummers, and all musicians looking to strengthen their rhythmic foundation, this workshop provides a supportive environment for learning, participation, and musical growth.

Spaces are limited — reserve your seat today and take the next step toward deeper groove and rhythmic confidence.
